The setting is a small clothing store in August of 1942 in Lima, Peru.
The United States government, in collaboration with several Latin
American governments, has embarked upon a program of abducting
Japanese and German Latin Americans for use as hostages in
exchange for Americans trapped by the war in Japan and Germany.

The White Line

A One-Act Play on Enemy Aliens in World War II

"The White Line" dramatizes the fate of Italian fishermen who
had their boats seized in Santa Cruz, California in 1942, and who were
forcibly relocated and separated from their only source of income.
